The Saylor Academy is thrilled to announce that two of our STEM courses, Chemistry I and Molecular and Cellular Biology, have been recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT®). Thanks to ACE CREDIT, Saylor Academy students can now earn recommended college credit for CHEM101 and BIO101b on a transcript issued by ACE.
Obtaining an ACE transcript is straightforward: just work through the self-paced course material as you normally would by following the course requirements. Then, take the final exam under the auspices of online proctoring service Proctor U. The proctoring service costs just $25 and when you pass, you may set up an account to request a transcript from ACE that can be used to seek college credit from institutions of higher learning.
For those unfamiliar with online proctoring, here’s a short video introduction to give you an idea of what it’s all about. (You might say online proctoring has a slight dystopian flavor to it – or perhaps you embrace this new online learning utopia with glad heart – but you can never say it is impractical, especially with all that saved tuition money in your pocket!)
